Embracing Growth: Mutual Funds and Mother's Love

Mother's Love and the Benefits of Long-Term Commitment

Mutual funds and mother's love are long-term investments. Being a mother is a lifelong commitment, filled with unconditional love and sacrifices. As a mother, I realized that our efforts invested to nurture a child, are reflected in the long run. In this article, I would like to share my personal experiences as a mother and draw similarities to the world of mutual funds, where patience and long-term commitment can yield significant rewards.

Reading Habits: Long-Term Success:

I remember the early days when I would sit with my son, holding a book in my hands, hoping that he would observe and develop an interest in reading. Initially, there were no visible signs of progress, but I remained patient. It wasn't until after six months that he became a true subscriber of books, and the reading habit was cultivated. This taught me an important lesson: just like the compounding returns in investments, the benefits of consistent effort may take time to materialize, but they are worth the wait. When it comes to investing, mutual funds are designed to be held for a significant period, allowing them to grow steadily.

Why Every Child Needs Mom: The Sense of Security:

As mothers, we strive to provide our children with a sense of security and emotional support. When my son returns from school, he looks for me as a source of comfort. Similarly, mutual funds offer a sense of security in the financial realm. They provide stability and potential growth, just as a mother's love offers emotional support.

Values in Motherhood and Investing: Shaping Future Generations:

One of the greatest gifts we can offer our children is teaching them good values, beliefs, and character. As mothers, we play a vital role in shaping the future generations. Similarly, when it comes to investments, mutual funds can test our discipline and patience in us. They teach us to focus on long-term goals and resist the temptation of short-term gains.

Mother's Love and Mutual Funds: Trust for Growth

Just as mutual funds rely on trust to flourish, my son instinctively turns to me, his mother, as the most dependable and trustworthy figure. It is in my embrace that he finds solace, guidance, and an unwavering love that surpasses all others. In the world of investments, where trust is crucial for growth, a child's life mirrors this importance.

Being a mother is a journey filled with countless moments of joy, sacrifice, and unconditional love. We may not always see immediate results, but the long-term benefits are immeasurable. Just like the rewards of investing in mutual funds, the efforts we put into raising our children will bear fruit in the future. Let us embrace the beauty of long-term commitment, both in motherhood and in our investment choices, and watch as our children and portfolios grow with love and stability.

Exploring Arun Farms & Nursery in Bangalore

My mom in her happy place
Arun Farms & Nursery in Bangalore
Today, my parents and I embarked on a delightful journey to Arun Farms & Nursery nestled on the outskirts of Bangalore. Our primary purpose was to find a yellow double layer hibiscus plant. Located in Hoskote, Bangalore, Arun Farms & Nursery is easily accessible from the city. As we drove along the Kolar Highway, we engaged in a meaningful conversation during our car ride.

As we entered Arun Farms & Nursery, we were greeted by a burst of vibrant colors and a soothing aroma that filled the air. The nursery sprawled across a vast expanse, showcasing a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees. It was a true paradise for nature enthusiasts like my mother.
She's a plant whisperer
Our search for the yellow double layer hibiscus led us through the rows of meticulously organized plants. The nursery's knowledgeable staff guided us to the section dedicated to hibiscus, where we were mesmerized by the array of colorful blooms. Finally, we laid our eyes on the exquisite red double layer hibiscus that had captivated my mother's heart. Its vibrant petals, layered delicately, radiated a sense of elegance and beauty.

We strolled through the nursery, admiring the diverse range of plants and flowers, each with its own unique charm. We bought a white hibiscus as well as a yellow hibiscus with red layered petals. The joy on my mother's face was priceless as she held the plant, envisioning its blooming presence in our own garden.

A picturesque view of Arun Farms & Nursery, nestled on the outskirts of Bangalore.

Afterward, we enjoyed a refreshing cup of tea before returning home.

Lessons Learned in Lockdown: Rediscovering Life and Embracing Responsibilities

It has been more than 90 days, and this quarantine or lockdown phase has taught us an extremely valuable lesson. It was like pressing the "resume/pause" button on a washing machine that forced us to put our lives on hold for about 3 months.

Undoubtedly, this pause and resume phase has given us the time to reconnect with old school friends, explore new hobbies, discover our passions, and even uncover hidden talents like painting, drawing, and surprising our family members with our cooking skills, and so on. Everyone must have learned at least one new thing.

If there is one thing I have learned during this period, it would be to be thankful for my life. There is only one life, and we need to cherish it. We are surrounded by loving and blessed relationships.

That's the positive side. On the other hand, as a new mom, my life has become busy and tiring. During the first few months, I realized that I didn't have much time for myself.

In the olden days, women stayed at home while husbands went out to work, so women took care of all the household chores. It was an expected duty for women to clean and cook.

Nowadays, both men and women go out to work, and people prefer to hire maids to ease the burden.

We used to have two maids for cooking and cleaning, but due to the lockdown, we had to let them go, and household chores became a problem for me.

My daily routine started with sweeping and cleaning the house, followed by cooking. We recently had a new baby, and washing the baby's clothes became a challenge. The baby's clothes had to be washed separately and soaked in warm water before and after the wash because the baby's skin is so sensitive, requiring extra care. Additionally, the dark-colored and light-colored baby clothes had to be washed separately. One of the biggest challenges of washing baby clothes by hand is that the fabric is delicate, and the clothes can tear easily. So, they had to be washed with the utmost care. Altogether, it took two hours of my time each day. My life became hectic.

While Folding my baby cloth
But upon witnessing my struggle, my husband stepped in to assist with the laundry duties and embraced the #ShareTheLoad movement. He firmly believes that both spouses should share the responsibility of household chores, advocating for #ShareTheLaundry and #ShareChoresMultiplyLove. He has always been my closest confidant, and without his unwavering support and encouragement, I doubt I would have made it this far.

The moment my husband started helping with the household chores was a tremendous relief. I am determined to instill in my children the importance of contributing to household tasks and regularly lending a hand with chores.

‘I will #ShareTheLoad and help in household chores in association with Ariel India and BlogAdda

Pearson Professional Center Bangalore review

Pearson Professional Center or Chopras

There are two PTE Academic test Centers in In Bangalore - Chopras and Pearson Professional Center. Before choosing the test center, I had a lot of things running in mind.
  1. Is the test center calm or noisy environment?
  2. Is the test center in reachable area?
  3. Will the staffs be polite?
  4. Are they trust worthy?
  5. Do they publish the results on time?
  6. Are they punctual and did they start the exam on time?
When I wanted to pick the exam Center, there were no answers for these questions. Hence I decided to write whether Chopra's or Pearson's professional center is best for PTE exam.

Here is the detailed review about Pearson Professional Center

Is the test center calm?
Yes. It’s located on the third floor hence there is no much traffic or horn sounds. The center is absolutely less crowded.  Only people who are enrolled for the exams are let inside the center. The computer, head sets and microphones were in good condition.

Coming to the noise during the exam, it really depends on your luck. It depends on the people you get in the batch. The guy sitting next to me was shouting the answers to the core and even after repeated warning or request, he did not reduce his voice. When complained to the Pearson staffs, they said this exam test your concentration and you have to concentrate irrespective of your external disturbance. But I must say, I am lucky because the rest of the people were speaking in right level of volume.

Since reading is the first part of the exam, high noise will really disturb and annoy. Imagine 10 people reading aloud in a 10*10 room? Irritating right? This will be same across all the centers, so mentally prepare for the loud noise and external factors like this.

Apart from people shouting, yes absolutely no traffic noise while taking test.

About Pearson Professional Center

There is only one washroom in the center. So, while taking that optional 10 minute break you might end up in queue(in case if you wanna use washroom). But this is not a major issue, since the time taken to complete PART 1 and PART 2 differs from person to person and more than 3 persons won’t be taking the break at the same time.

The place is neat and pleasant.

Is the test center in reachable area?

It’s next to Manipal Centre, hence most of the auto and cab drivers know the route. From Manipal Centre it's just 50 m walk.

Are the staffs polite?

Only 2 people were in the Center and they were friendly and helping in the formalities.

Did they start the exam on time?

Yes, they started the exam on sharp. However, the time starts when we start the exam is only counted.

How about

Tough the results declaration does not depend on institute, I clearly want to stress that please don't go with the fancy lines which says Results within 24 hours and so. Those are all absolutely gimmick. They have a statement which says, PTE Academic scores are usually available within five business days. Sometimes scores are returned more quickly and, in a small number of cases, they may take longer to be returned.

Its not in small number of cases, most of the cases, the result will take longer than expected. They will take more than 20 days to publish your result. So, please be prepared for it.

When you contact customer service, you get absolutely useless answers for the same. So, if you are taking PTE, you may get result even after a month. This is the true fact. Contact any people who took PTE, you will hear thousands of painful stories they faced in getting the results.

Conclusion:
Since Chopras is an education consultancy and offers visa process guidelines, provides English language training like TOEFL, IELTS and PTE, I heard people coming in and going for inquiry or for training. Hence it is always crowded.

Personally, I felt good in taking the exam at Pearson Professional Center.

If you would like to know more information about the Pearson Professional Test Center drop a comment, I will reply at the earliest.

If you are still confused in finalizing the test center, visit both the test Centers a couple of days before you enroll for the exam and decide so. This also helps you to calculate the travel time and not getting lost on the test day.

All the best guys

Shop, Save, Shop with 27coupons

Shop - Save - Shop with 27coupons.com

We were a gang of 5 people. Divya, Abitha, Raadhika, Thara and myself.  Whenever we plan for shopping, we always make sure Thara is in the group. Making sure whether money is in our wallet or in bank account is secondary. But first we check for Thara availability and then make our shopping plans. When we were together, no shopping were done without Thara. Reason Thara is very good at Bargaining. We always tease her that she is a master degree holder in negotiation skills.

Let me share an incident, you would then realize the haggling skills of Thara. Once we went to a dress shop and chose a dress. When asked about the price, the shop-keeper said, "2500".
Thara rapidly replied, “300rs”. We all four instantly took a run in each direction, hid behind a tree and sharpened our ears to listen the censored words that the shop-keeper is going to use.
But the shop-keeper gave a smile and said, “no way madam”. (Maybe he don’t want to miss a customer or he did not hear the price that Thara quoted!?)
Thara :  “500”.
shop-keeper:  “2000”.
Thara : “750”.
shop-keeper:  “1500”.
Thara :  “900”.
shop-keeper :  “1200 Final"

Thara replied "1200" is too high and she took a step to leave the place. The shop-keeper freaked out and said, “1000rs madam. This is best and final price, I have family madam."
Thara gave a strong reply, "900 final" and left the place. The shop-keeper packed the dress in a cover and he came running towards her and said “okay deal”.
The money and dress was exchanged!!!

Well, things got changed now. She got married and moved abroad. Moreover, my life also got busy and I never get time to go for shop. Online shopping has also become a boom and every one prefers to shop by sitting at home. I am not an exceptional in that and hence I tend to prefer on-line shopping.

Last week, I had a chance to talk with Thara and I said I miss her a lot and her wheeling and dealing during any product purchase. Then the discussion came to online shopping. I told her that though online shopping is fun, have lots of options and more flexible than going to shop, I miss getting the product for discounted price.

She again instantly suggested 27coupons website, which offers discount coupons of various online stores like Ebay, Filpkart, Myntra, amazon and so on.

All discount coupons at a place? I could not believe what she said and hence I launched 27coupons in a new window holding her in the video chat. The site has much more interesting factors than she shared.

We always love to know more about the great discount, deals of the day and no one love to miss any such great offers. Simply by subscribing to 27coupons.com, we get details about the discount offers to our in-box. Not only that we get 250 bonus points as soon as we register with 27coupons. Every time, when a coupon is used, 2 points are credited to the account. Another interesting factor, 2 points are given when you login to the account. Once the points reaches 1000, it can be redeemed with Rs. 50 or any gift voucher.

THREE things I love about 27Coupons.com:

1. Look and Feel of the website -
The icon for each category is very innovative and all Major stores are displayed in the home page. The site is very well structured and designed. In less than a fraction of second, you get the coupon code of the stores you are looking for.

2. Search option:
Wanna know the latest discounts/deals about olx? wanna recharge your mobile today with some great offers and save money? utilize the search option and know more about the deals.

Last time, I recharged my mobile for 300 Rs and there was a coupon code in 27coupons.com that offered 10% cash back on all recharges. I utilized and got 30 RS back.
Rs.30 saving in 300Rs is definitely an attractive one!

3. Success ratio: Success rate of the coupon is mentioned in the website which gives an idea and never waste our time. The coupons are updated very often.

With 27Coupons, you can now,

WashBucketChallange
My Brother accepts WashBucketChallange
"My Mom's always screech that I am 28 and I need to get married soon, so that my wife will take care of my things like washing and cooking. WTH? Do I need to get married for the sake of washing my dress and cooking? But I was not having a strong answer to reply back. After taking up this #WashBucketChallenge I can give her a reply, "Mom, Now, I know washing and can wash by myself. Can you postpone my marriage for another two years. Let me enjoy my bachelor's life"

Here is RZ sharing his washing experience,
"Rz is basically a cleanliness freak. Unfortunately, he is a conservative as well, so he did not wash any of his clothes, for he suspected that this guilt will kill him for loads of wasted water than the soiled clothes itself. Once in a bluemoon, he would send his faded faded jean to laundry service only when the blue jean looks faded brown.

So today, his online acquaintance and an avid blogger, D, sent him the #WashBucketChallenge. Since NZ was playing it terribly anyway, and since the harsh sun seemed much friendly than reading some blog posts, he went and took the challenge head on.

The results were nothing short of the ordinary. The conservative he is, his washing utensil is just a tumbler of water, a spoon and a toothbrush. This makes microeconomic sense, though. Soaking for 2 minutes(Yes! less than the maggi making time)by applying just few teaspoons of ariel solution of water on the dirty spots of his jean and scratching with his old Cibaca toothbrush and VOILA! The jean was restored to garment factory fresh condition"

Healthy Breakfast with Kellogg's Corn Flakes

I always admire Guptaji’s family. Everyday morning, they wake up at 4.00 AM, play Badminton with family and have breakfast together in the garden. I always admire their family members for their fitness. All were slim, fit and active. Whenever Gupta goes for shopping, she never forgets to buy Kellogg's corn flakes.
I am a typical software Engineer who works till late night and hence end up getting very late in the morning. My cab is at 9.40, but I am smart enough to sleep till 9.00 and get ready in 40 minutes to catch the cab. Hence I always end up missing the breakfast. My parents always says, skipping breakfast would result in major health effects. Hence with love she packs idly in the box and request to have it in Cab. But somehow, I feel shy to have idly in cab. My fellow co-workers would tease me.
One day my mother was complaining about this to Gupta Ji aunty. Then she suggested to give Kellogg's Corn flakes. This is just like snacks and eating in cab would not embarrass your daughter. But my mother is a typical south Indian who believes idly and sambar is the healthy Item and rest all foods are junk.
Then Gupta Ji explained about the nutrients and vitamins that Kellogg's contains. She also explained about the benefits of each vitamins and my mother started to dream about consuming all Vitamins like A, D, B12, B6 for breakfast. She was double happy. My mother now believed Kellogg's corn flake is the healthiest food in the world since it contains all the vitamins and nutrients.
Next day my mother brought 5 packets of Kellogg's in all different flavours like honey, chocolate, Mini-wheat’s and so on. It helped a lot for my rush morning. I was comfortable in having it in cab. Skipping breakfast never happened in my life again. I was not bored for having Kellogg's every day morning, since it comes in different flavours.

But one fine Sunday, I happened to visit Guptaji’s house. A sweet smell attracted me to kitchen. There I was saw her creativity in the breakfast. With just Kellogg's corn flake, she made a fantastic dish. All I knew was Kellogg's Corn flakes is to be ate only with milk. Sometimes, I add Almond and pista to it. But what I saw in Guptaji’s making was completely different. In Cornflakes she mixed apples, cinnamon in cold milk and served me. She in fact named the dish as Cornflakes Apple Cinnamon.

I was so excited to hear that she prepares many innovative items like this. To name a few, walnut cornflakes choco balls, Grapes cornflakes and much more. One evening, she gave me laddu. I ate that and asked was it prasad from any temple. Usually the laddus offered in temples tastes awesome. Gupta Ji replied that she made it with crushed cornflakes. I put the question other way round. Tell me one dish that you don’t prepare with cornflakes. She smiled and left the place. I am a die-hard fan of #KelloggsWaleGuptaji innovative corn flakes dishes.

Professional Courier Review - Worst courier service

Professional Courier Review - Worst courier service
Professional service is the worst courier service. If a parcel is sent to a person, the professional service doesn't offer home delivery. They say a stupid reason that it’s out of city. If that was the case, they should have informed the customer while placing the courier request. They keep mum, collect the amount from them and send it back to the same person who initiated the parcel request after 10 days. Though mobile number is written on bold letters on the parcel, they don’t even call and inform us. If they do so,  we can collect if from the headquarter. But the Professional service guys sends the parcel back without even calling the customer’s once. This has happened to me fourth time.

Some Idoits working in professional courier, eat the chocolates that comes with the courier. They unpack the parcel to see what’s inside. If there is something good, they steal it. Read more hereProfessional Couriers are highly unreliable and please beware of this courier pathetic service

ASUS EeeBook X205TA - I am loving it

Two weeks before, my laptop was behaving crazy and was displaying all multi-colors. When I took it for repair, it was out of warranty and hence I paid Rs.1000 for service and Rs.5000 for LCD replacement. My battery back-up is also not good these days. It hardly stays for 5 minutes. It has been 2 years I purchased this laptop and it’s time to buy a new one. I researched a lot for these past 2 weeks and found that ASUS EeeBook X205TA is very good and would adopt my lifestyle.

Why ASUS?
As the ASUS company tag line says “Inspiring Innovation. Persistent Perfection”, all the ASUS products like mobile phones, desktops and laptops has innovation in it. The Chinese company are the best in manufacturing the motherboards. Since motherboard is the heart of a computer, it’s much essential to check the quality of the mother board. ASUS being a Chinese company would be best in manufacturing the mother board. And also, ASUS is the world's fifth-largest vendor after HP, Lenovo, Dell and Acer.

Windows 8.1 Operating System with Microsoft Office 365:

ASUS EeeBook X205TA offers the full version of Microsoft Office 365 with one year subscription. It almost covers all the essential things like Word, Excel, Powerpoint and outlook that every software techie would be looking for. Here is the amazing and interesting news - ASUS EeeBook X205TA offers with 1 TB of online cloud storage.

Asus WebStorage:
At times, I will not be able to carry my laptop, but would be in position to access the files. This Asus WebStorage helps me to sync all my files, so that I can easily access it from anywhere. It offers 2 years of  500 GB web storage absolutely free!!!

Portable and Weight Less:

I am an avid Trekker and love to explore more places. But I face lot of challenges when I go for a 3-4 day trekking. Technology has become so part of my life, that I can’t stay without Gadgets without a day. Though iPod and mobile are good to read at some extent, my eyes get strained while reading it in small screens. That's why I prefer a large screen to read and use. Already I would be carrying heavy luggage like 3 liter of water bottles, tent and back pack, so its a poor idea to carry laptop during travel.

Astonishingly the weight of ASUS EeeBook X205TA is less than 1 KG and only 17.5mm thickness. It’s easy to carry in shoulder bag. Even the power adapter is very compact, that I can carry it in my pocket.

Very Good Back-up:
When I go for trekking in dense forest, there is no option to charge the laptop. Hence, I always look for an excellent backup. The ASUS EeeBook X205TA comes with two cell battery and can provide up to 12 hours of battery life.
Wow!!! That’s more than enough to browse all my emails and files before I got for sleep. It comes with VGA Web Camera, which would help me to connect through skype wtih all my friends and family when I am out of city

Built-in Speakers:
