Happy New Year

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day"

I love New Year as its a day where we think whom we are, what are we doing, what needs to be improved. Its like taking a new birth. Excitement fills when we remove old calender and hang up new one.

For me, the day usually begins with a special delicious breakfast prepared by my cute mom (Of course helped by me & my special dad). Then, I would go for a temple near by - by default its "Murugan Temple". Rarely, My sister accompany me.

So now its time to welcome 2010. Of course its a special year, as many miracles are going to happen in my family :)
Every-year I make a list of resolutions which expires with a validity period of 1 day.

Every Year,My New Year's resolution will be,

  • I wont fight with my sister.
  • will get up in early morning - (yes, getting sharply at 9.00 followed by suprabatham of my mom)
  • Wont watch TV
  • Listen to my mom & help her in cooking & cleaning the house.
Making New Year resolutions are very easy. Keeping track of it is very hard. In fact, Experts says, 97 percent of New Year resolutions are broken. Yes, this year too I have taken some resolution with a confident of implementing it.

My New Year's Resolutions 2010:

Repeat of last year's Resolution ;)

  • To Read more books
  • Start doing Exercise -My Mom's request, (PT Master request)
  • Family Trip to Abroad - I need to take my parents (its ok, my sister also) to some place outside India, may be Singapore.
I stop with 3, as I believe too much resolutions lead to No action.
From my resolutions, its clearly understood that I am not going to sacrifice anything. Just going to add some good habits- to make my life colorful. As a positive quote says, "Dont imagine a white elephant" tempts to imagine a white elephant. I don't want to repeat a bad habit by saying "I wont sleep till 9:00". Instead, "I will get up at 7:00" :)

Women are so special :)

Tomorrow you may get a working woman, but you should marry her with these facts as well. . .

Here is a girl, who is as much educated as you are;
Who may be earning almost as much as you do;

One, who has dreams and aspirations just as
you have, because she is as human as you are;

One, who has never entered kitchen in her life just like you or your sister haven't,
as she was busy in her studies and competing in a system that gives no special concession to girls for the "art of cooking activities".

One, who has lived and loved her parents & brothers & sisters, almost as much as you do for 20-25 years of her life;
One, who has bravely agreed to leave all, her home, her brothers and sisters, people who love her, her pet dog.....

To adopt your home, your family, your ways and even your family,your family name .......... One, who is expected to make the tea, first thing in the morning and cook food at the end of the day, even if she is as tired as you are, maybe more, and yet never ever expected to complain;

To be a servant, a cook, a mother, a wife, even if she doesn't want to; and is learning just like you are as to what you want from her; and is clumsy and sloppy at times and knows that you won't like it if she is too demanding, or if she learns faster than you;

One, who has her own set of friends, those, who she knows from school days and yet is willing to put all that on the back-burners;

One, who can be late from work once in a while when deadlines, just like yours, are to be met;
One, who is doing her level best and wants to make this most important relationship in her entire life a grand success, if you just help her some and trust her;

One, who just wants one thing from you, as you are the only one she knows in your entire house - your generous support, your sensitivities and most importantly - your understanding, or love, if you may call it.

But not many guys understand this.
Please appreciate "HER" I hope you will do.

A Mom with a different attitude.

A small boy was trying to remove a bottle of milk. when he lost his grip on the slippery bottle it fell, spilling its contents all over the kitchen floor - a sea pool of milk!

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of yelling at him or punishing him, she said, "My dear son, what a great and wonderful mess you have made! I have rarely seen such a huge puddle of milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up?"

The small guy felt so much happy and played in the Pool of milk for a while.

After a few minutes, his mother said, "Son, you know, whenever you make a mess like this, eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that? We could use a sponge, a towel, or a mop. Which do you prefer?"

He chose the sponge and they cleaned up the spilled milk.

His mother then said, "You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands. Let's go out in the back yard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it."

The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it. The guy then realized mistakes were just opportunities for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about. Even if the experiment "doesn't work," we usually learn something valuable from it.

Wouldn't it be great if all parents would respond the way she responded to him?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all respond to people who we manage in a similar manner too? Help someone learn from his / her mistakes?

View on Software Industry

Most people discourage persons who work in Software industry. They say its a stressful job, you need to support 24*7, work should be primary and personal life should be secondary and so many talks.

They feel Teaching job is better. its because of 9-6 job.

The only statement which comes out of their mouth would be "IT is Crap". "Software Industry Sucks"

Here are the reasons why a person should choose IT as their career:
  • If you are interested in learning new things, then of course "Software Industry" is the right place"
  • If you just love working with computers then probably you'll be happy in the software industry because you'll be getting paid for doing what you love.
Health Care:
  • People say, If you are in the industry for more than 3 years, chances are high that you will fall sick. Back -Pain, head-ache, are the ultimate bonus .Actually, its not.Everywhere you have the problems, for a Teacher, Shouting at students too makes BP to Peak.For a doctor, handling patients also keeps him frustrated. Its in our hands how we take our profession and deal with
  • Moreover, you are getting a chance to work with most intelligent people. your mind is always kept fresh.
  • If you want your life-Style to be some what better its the right place.
  • Every Coin has both head and tail. Same fits here. you have some disadvantages in Software professional. Its does not mean its completely a blood-sucking job.
All the best for Software professionals!!!

Finally . . Reached Destination . .

"The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it" - Oscar Wilde

From Many days, I hatched the idea of  starting a blog. Finally I started :)

My aspiration is to write about the things that have inspired me the most in my life, and I hope that my readers will also find my blog posts enjoyable. I believe that in the years to come, it will be wonderful to look back at my blog and see how much I have grown and evolved over time. In my opinion, writing a blog is an excellent way to share knowledge and experiences, as well as to preserve them for future reference.
I believe after many years, it would be wonderful for me to glance through my blog to know how I've been and how I've grown.

I Love/Hate HER!!!

Note - This is the debut short story.

                                                            Karthick, Karthick, Karthick.. I need that balloon.
Ooie, you are not a kid. !?
Pleaseeeeeeee Karthick!!!

Who doesn’t fall for girlzz please??
And yes, Karthick did!!!
Red Color!!Heart Shape!!! - Harini shouted
Karthick hates Harini when she behaves Kidish. He scolds her to behave mature but every time he fails
His BP rises to peak, whenever he calls Harini to wake her up and listening to her meaning less apology for not getting up.It doesn’t end there. She used to shout at him for not waking her as soon as she gets up.

Much time he gets irritated when she overreacts for a small head ache or slight fever and silly complaints like “Karthick I look so fat” “My skin is becoming dark”

Yet, Kathick admired Harini’s each and every single move!!! Internally he loved all her activities. He loves to call her during early morning and dies to listen her excuses which was filled with infant voice

She must be her ultimate mother when it comes taking care of him.
On the other hand, when it comes to an argument or fight she was the lady bruce lee

Days passed.
One day Karthick heart beat stopped for a while and immediately started beating fast when he heard the news that she is going US for 3 months. He made up his mind, and reached airport to give send off. He waved good bye to her and started back to his room. Suddenly he felt he was missing everything. He felt as if some one was holding his breath. He felt the entire world has become dark. That moment he realized he was in love with her.

He Smiled, He Cried.

He thought his life will be back in 3 months and can express his feel for her. The way he admired her childish activity, infant voice..etc etc. He turned on TV as soon as he reached room, to replace her thoughts.

Melody song remained of her, He tuned to News Channel
There came a FLASH NEWS!!!

Plane crash kills 31 in CHENNAI!!!
Oh that’s the flight which Harnini travelled. He went rushing to Airport and saw Harini name was in list.
Now harini is no more!!!
He wanted to tell her how much she means to her. But everything vanished.

P.S

We Never realise the value of people till they are with us. We start missing it as soon as it go away.
Please do value the people who are around you. Give them Time and Care.
Because you might wake up one day to realize that you have lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones
